The surgery is on Friday! I can officially say that now, yay! I pretty much have everything I need that isn't food related. I'm probably going food shopping today or tomorrow.
Even with my super obsessive research and being prepared for everything the surgeon told me, I was still caught off guard by one thing. I have to get a bone graft taken from my hip, eeek! And for some reason I am more worried about that than anything else. I already wont be able to communicate very much, but having a sore hip is just making it worst.
My surgeon also told me that I may or may not need a splint to hold my bite in place, it just depends on how the thinks my bite would hold up. I personally do want to the splint because my jaw tends to click at night and sort of fall to the side (gross I know, sorry!), and I'm really scared that will happen after surgery and I will wake up crooked!
Going to my pre anesthesia appointment made me feel a lot better about the surgery because now I know exactly where we have to go, where the OR is, and pretty much how the whole day will go. On Friday morning we are having a meeting with the surgeon so he can explain to us exactly what he will be doing. I will definitely have to stay one night, but my mom thinks its a good idea to stay two nights because we have a longish drive home and she doesn't want me to get nauseous. Oh! I just remembered that the surgeon also told us that after surgery they have a nutritionist come in to make sure that I am eating enough when I get home, and she will give us some tips on what to eat! And some other people will also come by but I dont remember what they will do. I think one person is going to come to talk to us about making a schedule for when to take my medication and antibiotics. Really helpful because after I got my wisdom teeth taken out I was sleeping alot so I wasnt staying on any sort of schedule and I ended up having a really long recovery time.
Yay, only FIVE more days!!!!
I can't wait until my achy jaw goes away!
On August 12th 2011 I got double jaw surgery to correct a class III malocclusion

Countdown: 6 days! and a walk through memory lane :)
My family was going through old photo albums the other day and I found this picture from when I was 10! this is post phase 1 treatment with top braces on only my first four teeth. Although my teeth did touch, it was because my bottoms were growing towards the tops. As my bottom jaw kept growing, by bottom teeth stayed slanted back, so when I got braces on my bottom teeth last year, my teeth were made to face upright therefore making my underbite seem more noticeable. Also, is the top middle picture I have a slight cant to the left, but now I have a slight cant to the right. hmmm.

Countdown: 16 days!
Update on supplies: I went to the store today and bought some soft food pouches to try out. Here are my reviews!
Iced coffee was delicious, but nonessential ;)
Delicious! This is called GoGo sqeez. They sell these at the vending machines at my school so I had tried them before, but this time I got the apple cinnamon flavor. They cost $2 and school at I got these for around 60 cents each for 3.2 oz, in a pack of four. A-
I am definitely a "HapptTot" after eating this! Its the sweet potato, carrot, apple, and cinnamon blend. Very flavorful, and a good choice for a portable snack for school. These were on sale for $1.20 for a 4 oz pouch. A little pricier than the applesauce, but really, a girl can only eat so much applesauce before she needs some flavor! A++
Ick. It was good at first, but it was a little too runny. Very bland, and it had no added sugar, but it needed it! This was $1 for 3.5oz. Probably will not be buying this. C-Odwalla was REALLY GOOD. Mango Tango flavor I think. A+!
All in all I am realllly glad I tried these or else I might have been stuck with a ton of gross ones!
It is 16 days, 1 hour, 6 minutes, 19 seconds until Friday, August 12, 2011

Countdown: SEVENTEEN
So, I'm seventeen years old, and I have seventeen days left until my surgery. For some reason I feel these seventeen days are going to go by muchhh slower than 17 years. I bought some stuff for after surgery, but first:
I'm making bank at the orthodontist! TWO tokens every time I go. To bad it takes at least 20 to get something good! I've been going there for 9 years and I can never seem to save them :(
I went shopping! I have heard that baby spoons are a must-have, so when I saw these at Ikea last week, I knew I had to get them! They were 6 for $1.50, a steal!
This is my trusty Ninja blender, chop-chop. He makes delicious smoothies and will be my lifesaver after my face is sawed to pieces.
My mommy got me these today while she was out shopping, they are little tooth pick type things, but they have thick bristles on the end to get between brackets.
My icepack! New best friend, come here you!
Another gift from my wonderful mother! I saw this on another blog and my mom remembered and got it for me :) Love you mother! Oh, and this is what I am going to look like after surgery :0
Kiddie sized Starbucks cup, instead of a sippy cup. I will be going back to school 3 weeks after surgery and I dont want to be walking around looking like a two year old for my senior year!
Neosporin to help with my chapped lips and face
